POODLE DAY
CARMEL, CALIFORNIA
October 4, 2025
Poodle Day is an annual event in Carmel, California that unites poodle owners and lovers—and their furry companions—for a fun-filled day, which includes a parade for poodles, poodle mixes, and their human companions, off-leash beach play, as well as evening events that include cocktail parties and dinners. In addition to being one of California’s premier vacation destinations, Carmel consistently ranks as one of Dog Fancy’s top ten most dog-friendly cities in America.
Special thanks to our sponsors, The Crossroads Carmel Ownership & Shops.
The founders of Poodle Day started the event to:
- Showcase the family-friendly breed
- Bring people to the town of Carmel, where they can enjoy their poodles at many locations for eating and shopping plus one of the most beautiful off-leash beaches in California.
- Raise funds for Poodle Rescue
Proceeds from Poodle Day benefit NorCal Poodle Rescue, a haven for poodles and poodle mixes in need in Northern California and Southern Oregon since 1985. NorCal’s philosophy is to help poodles while enriching the lives of those who adopt them. To learn how to help poodles and poodle mixes in need, visit the NorCal Poodle Rescue’s website.
If you can donate, we would greatly appreciate it. ![]()
In loving memory of Patty Moultrop, founder of NorCal Poodle Rescue. Patty founded NorCal Poodle Rescue in 1985. Her motto was, “If I am going to breed poodles, I also must do rescue.” Her Blue Skies Standard Poodles were magnificent, and there have been many champions. One of those was our Poodle Day Logo, Emma. We all miss her.
