POODLE DAY™
CARMEL, CALIFORNIA
SEPTEMBER 29, 2012

In 2011, we had over 347 poodles participating in the parade and many more at other events during the day.

The 2012 Poodle Day Morning Event will take place at the Crossroads Shopping Village, which is located off Highway 1 and Rio Road in Carmel. Check-in for name tags for the Morning Event is scheduled from 8:45 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. Around 10:00, Poodle Day’s official bagpiper, Nancy Murray, will lead the parade of poodles, poodle mixes, and their human companions.

Following the parade, there will be a Product/Fashion Show presented by Pet Food Express and other Crossroad Stores. Here you will find out about new pet safety products and see some great fashion for dogs.

Awards will follow the product fashion show. Winners will be photographed and the photos will be posted on the website for one year.

After the awards are presented, Zoom Room’s branch manager, Ratna Anagol will tell us all about Agility Training and will do a presentation with a few trained poodles. Then all registered leashed dogs will be welcomed to complete the agility course. There will be several trainers from all over Northern California and many volunteers to help you and your poodle complete the agility course.

Poodle Day will be charging a nominal, non-tax deductible registration fee for morning events, and all net proceeds will benefit NorCal Poodle Rescue. The registration fee will be $20 for one poodle or poodle mix, $30 for two, $40 for three, and $50 for four. Payment is required at the time of online registration.

Parade participants will be grouped according to size, and the marching order will be: toy poodles, small poodle mixes, miniature poodles, standard poodles, and large poodle mixes. Other pets that are non-poodles may join their families in the parade. The judges will present awards to poodles in each size group, and poodles do not have to be in costume to win. Winners’ photos will be posted on the Poodle Day website.

Participants who wish to march as a part of an organization or affinity group may do so as long as they comply with Poodle Day’s guidelines.

Poodle Day encourages participants to refer to its terms and conditions for parade rules, award categories and awards, registered participant drawing, and refund policy.

The morning’s festivities will wrap up and the Crossroads Village restaurants will have box lunches available this year. The Afternoon Event begins at 1:30 p.m.

Registration opens March 28, 2012.
