How to register?

Note: We no longer do affinity groups.

How do I get my name tag?

  • A few days before the parade, your name tag with your number will be emailed to the email address you registered with. Please make a note of this for your records.
  • Contact us at events@poodleday.com if you did not get your name tag, or stop by our station for tags and lanyards.
  • Again, the number you are assigned is based on the first dog you registered with.
  • Our walking order is as follows: toys (100), miniatures (200), small mixes (300), large mixes (350), (black & grey) standards (400), (white & cream) standards (500), (apricot, red or brown) standards (600), and then parti standards (700).

What happens at the parade?

  • Cynthia Buhl, the Crosswords manager, introduces the bagpiper, Michel Davenas, and he plays a lovely tune walking the parade route. Cynthia then introduces the parade announcer, Gerard Matimore. Then the parade starts.
  • You line up when your number is called. You will be announced by your name, where you live, and your dog’s name or names. Then you walk in front of judges and continue down the boulevard.

Are there prizes for the parade?

  • Yes, we have judges for each category. You must be present to win and have your photo taken by our official photographer to receive your prize. If not present, the prize will go to the second or third winner. The winner’s photo will be posted on our website for one year.
